Traffic closures coming to Lexington County. Here’s when and where

An exit ramp on I-26 in Lexington County is set to temporarily close amid an improvement project, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

The closure is set to occur on Aug. 7 around 8 p.m. on the I-26 eastbound exit at ramp 129 to Highway 21 as part of a new ramp alignment plan, and will last through 6 a.m. Aug. 10, according to a news release.

A signed detour will be in place during the closure, re-routing drivers to exit 136. From there, motorists will enter I-26 west to return to exit 129 for access to Highway 21, the release said.

All other ramps at the I-26/Highway 21 interchange will remain open, the department said.
