Taylor Gosnell, 35, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, the sheriff’s office said Sunday in a news release. Gosnell attacked her two children, 3- and 6-years-old, with both a knife and a blunt object, according to the release.
At about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a home in the 1400 block of Bud Arthur Bridge Road to perform a welfare check on the children, the sheriff’s office said. That’s in the Cowpens area of Spartanburg County, near the Pacolet River and I-85.
Investigators determined that during the night before the sheriff’s office was alerted, Gosnell attacked the children, according to the release. There was no word about why she attacked her kids.
Both children were hospitalized but are in stable condition and are expected to recover from their injuries, the sheriff’s office said. Further information on their conditions was not available, and there was no word who will have custody of the children once they’re released from the hospital.
Gosnell was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Facility just before midnight, according to the release. She is expected to have a bond hearing Sunday, the sheriff’s office said.

Following that, she’s scheduled to return to court on Nov. 12, Spartanburg County judicial records show.
Despite Gosnell’s arrest, the incident continues to be investigated by the sheriff’s office.
This was not the first time that Gosnell was arrested for a crime related to children.
Prior to this weekend’s arrest, Gosnell was out on bond from a February 2024 arrest when she was charged with two counts of unlawfully place a child at risk of or cause harm or willfully abandon the child, according to court records. Her bond was set at $5,000 for each of those charges, which are pending, court records show.
