Kevin Brayden Bonner, 16, is the teen who died Friday, Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said.
At about 12:25 a.m. Friday, there was a 911 call about a shooting in the Highland Glen Apartment Complex in Walhalla, according to Addis. That’s in the Upstate region, near Lake Keowee and not far from the state line separating South Carolina and North Carolina.
Bonner was found inside the apartment where he lived, Addis said. The teen was suffering cardiac arrest after getting shot multiple times, according to the coroner’s office.
At 1:29 a.m., Bonner died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head, Addis said.
No other injuries were reported.
The Walhalla Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation and has gathered evidence from the apartment, the law enforcement agency said.
