Fatherhood is a responsibility that has evolved and is getting harder in some ways. In recent years, dads have taken on greater childcare responsibilities and are starting to work more from home. It\u2019s a duty that\u2019s important across the country, but some states are better for working dads than others.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

WalletHub, a personal finance company, released a study that ranked each state based on how good they are for men balancing the dual responsibilities of parent and provider, comparing all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia across 22 key indicators of support for working fathers.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The analysis considered factors ranging from the average workday length for men to childcare costs and the percentage of men in good or better health.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking dads have to worry about much more than just how much income they\u2019re bringing home to support their kids,\u201d said Chip Lupo, a WalletHub analyst, in a statement. \u201cThey also have to make sure that their children\u2019s childcare and education are adequate, their health is properly looked after, and they get enough quality time with their father.\u201d<\/p>\n

SC might be a great place for some fathers, but overall, the state has much to work on if it wants to beat other parts of the country. Here\u2019s where the Palmetto State ranked and the reasons behind it:<\/p>\n

The study ranked each state based on these four factors: Economic & Social Well-Being, Work-Life Balance, Child Care and Health.<\/b> The 22 indicators are spread across these factors.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

SC didn\u2019t score well in WalletHub\u2019s analysis and ranked 42nd<\/b> in the country. That means 41 other states are better for working dads and have more opportunities. Here\u2019s the state\u2019s scores:<\/p>\n
