What\u2019s not to love about a good burger? It might not be the healthiest option, but there\u2019s a reason why it\u2019s the most grilled food in the nation.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re not that hard to find either. Restaurants, fast-food establishments and food trucks are all likely to have a delicious burger on their menu. Some locations are more iconic and nostalgic than others, however.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Southern Living, a lifestyle magazine that focuses on the South, made a list of 20 legendary burger joints that have been influential and impactful to the South\u2019s burger scene. Many of the spots first opened up back in the 20th century.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re the places where we\u2019ve made memories near and dear to our hearts,\u201d A Southern Living writer said. \u201cThe menus are often short and sweet, but one thing you can always count on at a legendary burger joint is a consistently great meal.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Lucky for South Carolina, one of the state\u2019s burger restaurants made an appearance on Southern Living\u2019s list.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the beloved burger joint in SC that Southern Living says is legendary:<\/p>\n

The Beacon Drive-In – Spartanburg<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

Did you guess The Beacon Drive-In? The restaurant has been serving old-fashioned burgers since 1946 and has since become a Southern landmark.<\/p>\n

According to their website, they\u2019re known for their Chili-Cheese A-Plenty, a chili-cheeseburger buried underneath piles of sweet onion rings and french-fried potatoes. Other favorites at the Beacon include their Sliced Pork A-Plenty, BBQ hash, and The Pig\u2019s Dinner, a loaded banana split.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Beacon Drive-In is one of the few remaining legends that offer curb service. Cruise on in and let one of their friendly curb hops take your order.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Their sweet tea is \u201cWorld Famous\u201d and is generously sweetened, with a splash of lemon, served in a cup packed with shaved ice. They assert that they sell more sweet tea than any other single restaurant in the country. Southern Living says that the Beacon Drive-In hosts an average of 1 million customers every year, and the restaurant goes through 3,000 pounds of sugar per week.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you can stomach a sweet other than your giant cup of tea, a slice of apple or pecan pie should do the trick,\u201d A Southern Living writer said. \u201cA slice is \u00bc of the pie. Did we mention this place is not for the faint of heart?\u201d<\/p>\n
