While that means bloody diarrhea, vomiting and agonizing stomachaches for most people, Shiga-toxin forms of E. coli are the most likely to cause hemolytic uremic syndrome or HUS, the kidney failure that can make E. coli deadly.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p><b>READ MORE: 1.7 million grill brushes recalled after people swallowed loose metal bristles<\/b><\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere have been reports of 12 confirmed cases of consumers experiencing stomach illness between May 11, 2026, and Jun. 5, 2026, linked with E. coli O145:H28 infections,\u201d the recall notice said. \u201cAfter receiving reports of consumers experiencing digestive illnesses and having consumed GreenWise frozen blueberries as part of their diet, Frutas y Hortalizas S.A. has decided to initiate the recall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Return recalled blueberries to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
