Here\u2019s why<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>South Carolina Department of Agriculture inspectors made 447 visits in Greenville County, both routine and re-inspections and 402 were graded A and 33 B.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p><b>Dixie\u2019s Family Restaurant<\/b> on Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greenville scored 71 on June 11.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The inspector saw employees drinking a beverage at the grill line while cooking and handling a biscuit with bare hands. Condensation dripped on coconut cake in a cooler.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Food debris was on dishes stored as clean by a three-compartment sink. Food was at improper temperature, including green beans and turkey after being in a warmer for two hours.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Several ready-to-eat foods were not properly labeled with prep or discard date or exceeded the seven-day allowance, including coleslaw, sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, broth, sliced ham, gravy, marinara sauce, and rice.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Eggs were at room temperature by the grill. A masher was in standing water on the cook line and a scoop was inside a sugar container.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A sink in the women\u2019s bathroom did not have adequate pressure. Vents throughout the kitchen were uncovered.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Dixie\u2019s was reinspected on June 18 and received an A, with 93 points.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>It was cited for a cook not washing hands before changing gloves and bread stored.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>It received 100 points when inspected on June 26.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p><b>Crust and Craft<\/b> on South Main Street in Greenville scored 72, a C, on a routine inspection on June18.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The restaurant was marked down on a hand sink in the pizza station with debris from using it as a dump sink, no paper towels and sanitizer did not have chlorine.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A can opener blade and deli slicer was soiled with food debris, an ice machine had had black bio-film and garlic butter from the previous night was left out and set for use with a spatula for lunch shift.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The facility did not have a reminder on the menu for raw tuna.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Spray bottles of chemicals were not labeled with the common name and thawed raw tuna was in packaging in a walk-in cooler.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The rear door did not fully close and had a gap along the bottom and side edges. Share plates and condiments for customers were stored in front of a hand sink at the bar allowing for contamination. Hand sinks in the pizza station, warewashing area and public restroom were not sealed to the wall.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Cutting boards had deep grooves and rough edges.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Mechanical ware washer exterior\/interior had an accumulation of bio-film, grease and\/or grime and a rack of soiled dishes did not have a thorough cleaning.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Stove tops, fryer interiors, exteriors and ledges, refrigeration doors, handles, interiors and gaskets, inset portions of sandwich units were soiled with food debris and grease. There was also buildup of food debris, grease and grime on walls throughout the facility.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The wood floor and stairs at the rear of the facility were not readily cleanable and floors throughout the kitchen areas were not clean.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Reinspection on June 26 brought a score of 99 due to wood floors not being easily cleanable.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Also, the state\u2019s grade decal was blocked by a planter.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p><b>Shortfields<\/b> on South Main Street in Simpsonville received a 73, a C on June 30.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Raw chicken was stored overcooked chicken wings, raw meat and chicken over raw fish.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Various foods were at improper temperature including pizza sauce, cooked potatoes, deli meats and diced tomatoes. Cooked wings, potatoes, diced tomatoes, ground sausage and beef had no date markings or exceeding 7 days.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Restricted sprays were stored near food and food contact items.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Thawed fish was still in sealed packaging.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Excessive ice build up was on the floor and in contact with food. The breading station and single upright freezer had an excessive amount of organic matter on seals.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Multiple units were not maintaining proper temperatures.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>An excessive amount of debris was in the water heater area and the dumpster and grease bin were off the concrete foundation. Exposed utilities were over food and food contact items.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p><b>Red Bowl Asian Bistro<\/b> on South Pleasantburg Drive in Greenville was inspected on June 17 and given a 74, a C.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The inspector said escolar fish was being sold as white tuna.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Whole raw eggs were stored above produce in a walk-in cooler and knives, whisks and deli slicer were stored clean at the back prep area with build-up of food debris.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Eggrolls, spring rolls, sauces, chicken were prepared and held for more than 24 hours and not labeled with the use by, discarded by, or prepped on date.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Multiple food containers and sauces were not labeled and containers were stored on the floor in the walk-in freezer and dry storage.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A scoop was stored in the ice machine and knives were stored between equipment. Containers were stacked wet in a clean dish area.]<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A residential drill with paint mixing attachment was in the back prep area and multiple cutting boards had grooves and scoring so could not be properly cleaned.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Egg rolls were stored in broken plastic containers in the walk-in cooler and freezer. Storage racks, rice cookers, inside of coolers, outside handles of multiple pieces of equipment had a build-up of debris.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Concrete floors were pitted. Walls by dry storage and back prep area had a build up of food debris.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Upon re-inspection, the restaurant was given a 99, an A, with a point off for knives stored between equipment.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>On June 24 <b>Tacos &amp; Bla Bla Bla<\/b> on South Maine Street in Simpsonville received a 75, a C.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The inspector said there were no hand drying provisions, eggs were stored over ready to eat salsas and raw steak and queso and shredded chicken were not at proper temperature.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The back door did not have air curtains or a self-closing mechanism.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The ordering window did not have the air curtain on and insects were flying around the kitchen. Bags of rice, sugar and napkins were on the floor of a storage trailer.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A three compartment sink was not sealed to the wall.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p><b>Pita Grille<\/b> on Wade Hampton Boulevard in Taylors was given at 76, a C, on June 15.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The inspector saw an employee put on gloves without washing hands and did not see soap at a hand sink.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A box of dough was torn and wet on the floor of the walk-in cooler.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Dishes on the clean rack were not clean and a meat slicer had a build up of food debris. The ice machine had an accumulation black bio-film.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Tatziki sauce, hummus, falafel, gyro meat, sliced tomatoes, ranch dressing, and red sauce in prep cooler and walk-in cooler did not have labels identifying a proper discard date.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Food was stored on the floor, including tortillas, lettuce, cooking oil, as was a cutting board.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>There was a plastic spoon in a sauce container and a styrofoam cup was used to scoop lentils.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Wet plates and dishes were stacked on shelves.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The sides of a grill, hoods, upright and low boy coolers, walk-ins, dough machine, prep tables, three compartment sink, hand sink had a build up of debris.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/usmovingexpertss.com\/?p=2911\">Kentucky Gov. There were also missing floor tiles in the walk-in cooler.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The re-inspection on June 25 resulted in a 93, an A.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Points were taken off for an employee filling a pan with water from a hand sink. A cup was stored in flour and a scoop was in the ice machine.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A cutting board could not be cleaned properly due to scoring and grooves.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The dough machine had a build up of debris as did the floors in a walk-in cooler.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p><b>Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen<\/b> on South Main Street in Mauldin was inspected on June 16 and given a 78, a B and re-inspected on June 26 when it earned an 83, but was given a C<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The first inspection found an employee handling raw chicken containers, then scooping ice without washing hands and another did not wash hands after touching their face.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>There were no hand drying provisions on the cook line and dishwashing area.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Food was at improper temperature, including shredded lettuce, shredded cheese and sliced cheese.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A utility line covering was in disrepair with exposed nonabsorbent and smooth material in an area exposed to splash or spillage<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The walk-in freezer door did not shut all the way. Sides of equipment and exterior of dry storage bins had an accumulation of food residues and debris.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Grease was on the ground around a recycling bin.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>There were multiple broken floor tiles in the kitchen and ceiling tiles had visible black organic growth.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>During the re-inspection, an employee left the kitchen and re-entered without washing hands.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The kitchen cookline handwashing sink was blocked by a large trash bin and boxes, the front counter handwashing had scraps of beans and mac and cheese inside and the back warewashing area handwashing sinks had bits of raw chicken.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The back door has a gap at the bottom right corner, the drive thru window self-closing mechanism was turned off and the window left partially open. Several flying insects were seen throughout the kitchen.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A food employee with painted nails worked with exposed foods (packaging chicken, scooping fries) and not wearing gloves.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The utility line, floor tiles and freezer door had not been repaired.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p><b>3 Friends Bar &amp; Grill<\/b> was given an 80, a C, on June 19 and when reinspected on June 26 was given an 96 but ranked a C.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The first inspection found a cook at the restaurant at 7736 Augusta breading and frying raw chicken then changing gloves without washing hands before making salad.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Food pans in the clean area were not clean to the sight and touch. Various foods were at improper temperatures including corned beef, bottled chili sauce with fresh garlic and garlic parmesan sauce.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>In the walk-in cooler, cooked chili, marinara sauce, alfredo sauce was beyond the seven-day date mark, a cook transferred cooked wings into deep bus tubs to cool and washed cut lettuce was at 68 degrees in a cooler.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A clean cutting board and knife stored were not protected from contamination. Ceiling tiles had a buildup of grime and grease, splatter on walls and floors with build up under equipment.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>When an inspector returned on June 26, they saw a line cook changing gloves without washing hands and they touched ready to eat food, a consecutive violation.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Containers of oil, margarine and water were not labeled.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The restaurant earned a 100 on June 29.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p><b>Logan\u2019s Roadhouse<\/b> at 53 Beacon Drive. Greenville, scored 80, a B, on a routine inspection on June 22 but when it was re-inspected and was given a 95, the results were considered a C.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>During the first inspection, there was no hand drying provision provided in the kitchen, no chlorine in the ware washing machine, and unclean food containers were stored with clean containers.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>There was organic matter inside the ice machine,.food not at proper temperature including chicken and rice soup, potato soup, cheese, cut tomatoes, raw chicken, raw pork and lettuce.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Food build up was inside several microwaves as well as organic matter on walls under the dish machine and under the soda machine.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Water leaked out of a prewash bin.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Outside the back door there was grease on the ground and on top of the grease dumpster and the dumpster\u2019s door were open.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Trash and a sink were behind dumpsters and outside the back door was a broken fryer filled with water.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The re-inspection found food at improper temperatures, including raw chicken and shrimp.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>An employee stored a cell phone on the food prep counter top.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Trash and the sink were still outside.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p><b>TP Greenville<\/b> was inspected on June 8 and received an 83, a B, and then on June 18, it got an 87, and ranked a C.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Located at 1034 Woodruff Road in Greenville, the restaurant lost points for the bar handwashing sink being used as a drink dump sink and the kitchen breading station handwashing sink blocked by a trash Two cans were dented along a seam and food was at improper temperature including ranch dressing, sour cream, marinara and housemade jalapeno vinaigrette.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Birria broth, salsa, brisket and queso were held longer than 48 hours without an approved Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point plan.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Employees with painted nails worked with exposed foods and did not wear gloves. The kitchen pizza prep cooler leaked at the bottom and the plastic cover on the ice machine lid was split.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The re-inspection found three dented cans, food at improper temperature including sour cream, cocktail sauce, and blue cheese dressing.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Fire roasted salsa was held longer than 48 hours.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>It was inspected again on June 22 and given a 98, an A.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>It lost points for the split plastic cover on the ice machine.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>IHOP on West Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greer received an 85, a B, when inspected on June 10.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The inspector found black debris build-up in drink nozzles, blanched bacon covered in a deep pan in the walk-in cooler and a broken gasket in a cooler on the cook line.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>There was grease build up on hood vents and cooking equipment throughout the kitchen, ice build up in a walk-in freezer and around the door and grease on the ground near a grease trap in the refuse area. The dumpster had a hole in the bottom.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A follow-up inspection scored 98, an A. Points were taken off for a water hose under pressure while not in use, ice buildup in a walk-in freezer and around the door and water on the floor in the back hallway near the back door due to a leak in the water heater.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Inspected on June 4, <b>Jamaica Mi Irie<\/b> on South Main Street in Greenville scored 85 Results, a B, and 83, a C on a follow-up on June 12.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The inspector found soiled pans stored as clean, a vegetable slicer with food debris and bio growth and various foods at improper temperature including rice, ox tail gravy, curry chicken and raw oxtail.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Fish was being thawed in standing water and clean storage containers were stored upright allowing for contamination. Wet pans were stored on shelving.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A hand sink in the kitchen was not sealed to the wall and holding cabinets were soiled with food debris and bio film. A stove top was soiled with grease and food debris. Shelving over a steam table was soiled with food debris and grime.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>During the second inspection, the vegetable slicer was soiled with food debris, deep pans of cooked chicken wings were cooling in a two door lo-boy refrigerator, storage containers stored upright holding cabinets were soiled with food debris and bio film. The stove top was soiled with grease and food debris.
