The expansion will create 136 new jobs.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The company appears to be an existing manufacturer in Lexington County, but the facility is not identified in documents published ahead of a Lexington County Council meeting. It is only identified in the proposal as \u201cProject Ribbon.\u201d Such agreements are commonly written to avoid identifying a company before a given project is solidified or ready to be announced.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A fee-in-lieu-of-tax, or FILOT, agreement allows the company to pay a set fee to the county rather than the property tax that would normally be due on a site, in exchange for bringing new investment and economic activity into the county. The draft resolution included in the agenda packet for Tuesday\u2019s Lexington County Council meeting doesn\u2019t say if the manufacturer currently enjoys either.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Specific incentives for the project will be negotiated at a later time, the resolution says.
