The generation will be natural gas \u201cbridging to nuclear energy,\u201d according to a news release.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis proposed partnership represents an opportunity to strengthen America\u2019s leadership in artificial intelligence, expand reliable energy generation, and strengthen our national security,\u201d said Brandon Williams, a National Nuclear Security Administration administrator, in a news release.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A final lease agreement has not yet been struck for the project. .<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmentum was selected to enter negotiations for a phased lease and is expected to work with partners to develop the data center and on-site energy generation,\u201d a National Nuclear Security spokesperson said in an email.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The data center will likely be one of the largest in South Carolina. The \u201cend user\u201d of the data center has also not been determined, and the chosen developer will pay for the project.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The Savannah River Site was one of four federal locations selected last summer to help develop a data center. The Department of Energy also the Idaho National Laboratory, Oak Ridge Reservation and Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant.
