He also faces charges under Sheriff Leon Lott\u2019s Parent Accountability Initiative after investigators found juveniles had access to the unsecured gun and drugs, the sheriff\u2019s department said.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>At about 5:45 a.m. June 10, deputies responded to reports of a shooting where one person was injured at 851 Bush River Road, which is McCary\u2019s, according to the release. That\u2019s in a part of Columbia between Broad River Road and I-26.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Deputies learned that the woman who was shot in the upper body was driving herself to an area hospital, according to the release. Columbia Police Department officers were able to locate the victim and her vehicle and Richland County EMS was dispatched to take her to the hospital for medical treatment, the sheriff\u2019s department said.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Further information on her condition was not available.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>No other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Deputies learned that a physical altercation had taken place in the parking lot, stemming from an argument inside, and the victim was shot, the sheriff\u2019s department said. He was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, where he was also charged with resisting arrest and petty larceny, jail records show.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>No bond has been set for Davis, according to jail records.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Mays was arrested by the Richland County Sheriff\u2019s Department on July 8, following a traffic stop, according to the release. After being released on a $150,000 surety bond, Mays was arrested again on July 16, following a search connected to the shooting investigation, the sheriff\u2019s department said.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Mays bond related to the charges from the search were set at $75,000, according to the release. Richland County court records show that Mays posted bond, and he\u2019s not listed on the jail\u2019s inmate roster.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>This was not the first time there was a shooting on the bar\u2019s property. In 2019, two people were killed in a shooting at McCary\u2019s and two others were injured.
