Department of Corrections said July 23 in a news release. Instead, each was charged with providing contraband to prisoners and criminal conspiracy, according to the release.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Justin Daniel Eaddy, a 22-year-old Orangeburg resident, Antonio Brandon White, a 36-year-old St. Matthews resident, Destiny Marie Langley, a 27-year-old Sumter resident and 32-year-old Ehrhardt resident Shimeisha Shadi Bell were arrested for attempting to smuggle contraband into MacDougall Correctional Institution, the S.C. Department of Corrections said.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s-only medium security prison is in the Ridgeville area of Berkeley County. Medium security prisons have single-fenced perimeters and electronic surveillance, according to the S.C. Department of Corrections.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The contraband stuffed into the potato chip cans included tobacco, cellphones, cellphone chargers, rolling papers and lighters, according to the release.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Eaddy, White, Langley and Bell were arrested July 23, the S.C. Both were murdered, NC sheriff says<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Langley also was charged with a drug possession crime after five tablets believed to be MDMA were found inside a vehicle, according to an arrest warrant. Her bond was set at $47,000 on the combined charges, and she remains locked up in the Berkeley County Detention Center, jail records show.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Bond also was set for Eaddy ($60,000), White ($55,000) and Bell ($7,500), but only was posted for Eaddy, Berkeley County court records show. Like Langley, White and Bell are still listed on the jail\u2019s inmate roster.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Should any of the four be convicted on the felony providing contraband to prisoners charge, they would face a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine, according to South Carolina law. A conviction on the felony criminal conspiracy charge would mean at most, a sentence of 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine, also according to South Carolina law.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time that someone has been arrested for attempting to smuggle something to prisoners being held at MacDougall Correctional Institution. In 2019, Jahbrisha Marie Ebony Pennick left marijuana, tobacco and other contraband at a rest area off I-26 for it to be picked up by an inmate from MacDougall Correctional Institution who was working on a litter crew, according to the S.C.
