Their son, Elijah, was later arrested.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Julia Kim, whose townhome shares a wall with the Bieniemy residence, said that she didn\u2019t hear any gunshots. Other neighbors told Kim they also did not hear gunshots.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>But Kim was stunned when she looked outside her window to see cops sprinting between the homes with long guns drawn.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cLiterally like out of a movie \u2014 with ARs drawn,\u201d Kim said in a phone interview with The Star. \u201cI\u2019ve never seen anything like that. Wow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Mia Bieniemy was taken to an area hospital for treatment of \u201cserious injuries\u201d after the shooting but is now in stable condition.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Elijah Bieniemy, 27, was still at the scene when officers arrived and was arrested on malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and discharge of a firearm inside of a dwelling.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Some 20 to 30 police vehicles responded to the scene in eastern Ashburn, Virginia, Kim estimated, where law enforcement remained present until roughly 4:30 a.m. Monday.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Kim said they weren\u2019t aware of the details from Sunday until news began to spread on social media.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody was shocked,\u201d she said. \u201cI mean all the neighbors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>She described the Bieniemy family the same way she described the neighborhood: quiet and uneventful.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The townhomes back into Central Park, draped by restaurants and shops, where Kim said it\u2019s common to see kids playing, dogs walking and families gathering.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/usmovingexpertss.com\/?p=3851\">France braces for fourth major heatwave as crews tackle Bordeaux blaze<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a very quiet street,\u201d she said. \u201cNothing like this has ever happened. Not even close.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>After police responded to the scene, Kim peered outside her window to see Elijah Bieniemy being led away in handcuffs Sunday evening.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>He was booked hours later and is currently being held without bond. His next court appearance is set for August 31, when he is scheduled for a preliminary hearing.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Eric Bieniemy had spent the weekend in St. Joseph, Missouri, for the start of Chiefs training camp. He left camp to travel to Virginia, where he and his family moved in 2023 for a one-year job with the Washington Commanders.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Kim said she has been neighbors with the family since the Bieniemys bought the home in 2023. Eric spent 2024 with UCLA and 2025 with the Chicago Bears before returning to the Chiefs in January.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Kim said she doesn\u2019t see the family frequently but \u201cfound nothing out of the ordinary\u201d and described Elijah as chill, soft-spoken and quiet.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust a quiet, nice family,\u201d Kim said. \u201cYou just don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on right within the walls of people\u2019s (homes).\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Speaking from training camp Monday in St. Joseph, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said that Mia Bieniemy was in stable condition.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s a saint,\u201d Reid said of Mia. \u201cWe all know that \u2014 the people that know her. One of God\u2019s good blessings sitting right there. Really, a special person. But things happen.
