But Miss USA CEO Thom Brodeur wrote in a statement Wednesday night that she would no longer wear the crown upon the organization learning of conduct \u201cover an extended period of time,\u201d The News &amp; Observer reported.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Brodeur did not explain how Boltinhouse violated Miss North Carolina USA policies but wrote that the organization \u201cdoes not tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia nor language that strips any person of their dignity \u2014 no matter who they are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<h2>Boltinhouse: \u2018Every teenager has made a mistake\u2019<\/h2>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>In a Friday interview with the right-leaning Carolina Journal, Boltinhouse said she was limited in what she could say because of a \u201cconfidentiality clause,\u201d but said she believed her \u201cbelief system as a Christian conservative woman\u201d was responsible for Miss USA stripping her of the title.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Boltinhouse said she did not want to diminish Miss USA or the state directors as she had a \u201cgreat experience\u201d with them. She\u2019s new to pageantry \u2014 she decided to start competing in December 2025 because she wanted to \u201cdo something for myself\u201d having dedicated her life to her career. She called pageantry one of the biggest blessings of her life.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I just feel like it went from a dream to a nightmare,\u201d Boltinhouse said. \u201cReally fast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Carolina Journal Editor-in-Chief Donna King asked Boltinhouse how the Miss USA organization handled the controversy. Boltinhouse said multiple times she couldn\u2019t say or didn\u2019t know, citing the confidentiality clause and suggesting the decision-making process was unclear to her.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>King also referenced Boltinhouse\u2019s \u201cstrong political beliefs online\u201d and asked about her old social media posts but did not say what the posts said. Boltinhouse did not confirm she had a controversial online history \u2014 only referring to it as online \u201cspeculation\u201d \u2014 but said she was being unfairly judged for her past.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery teenager has made a mistake,\u201d Boltinhouse said. \u201cEvery person here has made a mistake. But I\u2019m not really here to talk about that. I\u2019m here to talk about the woman I am today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>While Boltinhouse did not discuss any specific allegations against her, she defended her integrity, citing her \u201cMiss Congeniality\u201d award at the June pageant. Boltinhouse won that award, she said, because she has good character.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe I\u2019ve been judged and interpreted with this narrative that is just not true,\u201d Boltinhouse said.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<h2>Miss NC USA license holder denies decision was politically motivated<\/h2>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>In a Saturday morning statement to The N&amp;O, A Blaize Productions, the license holder for Miss North Carolina USA, denied that the decision to strip Boltinhouse of the title was based on her \u201cpolitical views, religious beliefs, or protected personal viewpoints.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/usmovingexpertss.com\/?p=4439\">Rock Hill teen charged with murder after conspirator is killed in robbery<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe decision followed a careful review of the totality of information that came to our attention, including previously undisclosed conduct and public content spanning multiple years that was inconsistent with the standards and responsibilities expected of a Miss North Carolina USA titleholder under the agreements governing the position,\u201d A Blaize Productions wrote.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A Blaize Productions did not say how Boltinhouse violated Miss North Carolina USA standards, adding that it did not want to discuss confidential personnel or contractual matters further.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>But the decision to replace Boltinhouse was \u201cextraordinarily difficult\u201d and the reasons for doing so \u201cwere clearly shared and expressed to [Boltinhouse] prior to the official announcement,\u201d the organization wrote.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The N&amp;O has also reached out to Miss USA to ask for comment on Boltinhouse\u2019s interview and what prompted the decision to replace her. The organization has yet to respond.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Friday\u2019s interview was the first time Boltinhouse addressed the pageant controversy publicly. Brodeur wrote Wednesday that Boltinhouse\u2019s statement would come after his \u2014 and that was intentional.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have seen Brittany\u2019s statement,\u201d Brodeur wrote Wednesday. \u201cThere is ownership, accountability and apology. While it does not undo the harm, and it does not change the outcome, it is the beginning of the only thing that ever repairs harm, which is change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The N&amp;O asked Miss USA if Boltinhouse\u2019s Friday comments reflected the statement Brodeur reviewed.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<h2>What happens now?<\/h2>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Business broker and herbal medicine company owner Myla Hadley, who finished second at the state pageant in June, accepted the Miss North Carolina USA title in Boltinhouse\u2019s place. Hadley will represent North Carolina in Miami at the Miss USA pageant on Aug. 27.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>In a Saturday Instagram post, Hadley wrote that while there were only 11 days until she\u2019d travel to compete, and she \u201creceived this crown under unexpected circumstances, I did not begin preparing for it 11 days ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Hadley has competed in pageants since she was 12 years old, she wrote.
