Can you bury them on your property?<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>South Carolina law says yes, you can.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>But there are some directives.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<h2>SC law<\/h2>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>State law says they must be buried or burned. That goes for poultry as well as dogs and cats or other domesticated animals.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/usmovingexpertss.com\/?p=4485\">MUSC opens expanded downtown Columbia ER, continues other Midlands projects<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The hole must be at least three feet deep for most pets, poultry one foot.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t bury them you can be charged with a misdemeanor and, if convicted, face a fine of between $5 and $100 or 30 days in jail.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Richland County requires that you call 811, or visit the <u>South Carolina 811 website<\/u> before digging.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Animal care will pick up if the pet is double bagged and placed curbside.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll other deceased animals are the responsibility of the resident or property owner,\u201d Richland County says.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/usmovingexpertss.com\/?p=4483\">2 Midlands towns are being run very differently. This state law shows why<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>But there are other options on how to dispose of the remains.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Agape Pet Services in Greenville offers cremation services, saying backyard burial could result in animals digging the body up or resurfacing during heavy rain.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The company sells urns, which can be taken with you if you move, memorial products and artwork made from cremated remains.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Other options include:<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Cremation and spreading the ashes.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Donating a pet to science research.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Burial in a pet cemetery.
