The car wash \u2014 which would be the type where drivers remain in their cars as they pass through a wash tunnel on a conveyor belt \u2014 would also have 13 vacuum bays and eight parking spaces, per commission records.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The Tommy\u2019s Express project was first approved by the planning commission in 2024. However, that initial site plan expired, commission documents note. A Tommy\u2019s Express location opened at 4700 Devine St. in Columbia back in 2022. The company also is currently building a location on Mineral Springs Road in Lexington.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The spot where the new car wash is planned on Spears Creek Church Road is near a host of businesses, including a Scoop of Heaven ice cream shop, a Carolina Fish &amp; Wings restaurant and host of other retailers.
