Here\u2019s why<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Scott Jennings, a former McConnell adviser and conservative political commentator on CNN, said he spoke with McConnell Tuesday  about political races and the attention he\u2019s received since his hospitalization nearly two months ago.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe told me today, he said, it was like, \u2018I know this is unusual circumstances. I\u2019m sitting here. The doctors tell me I don\u2019t have any life-threatening issues. It must seem rather strange,\u2019\u201d Jennings said Tuesday night on CNN. \u201cSo yeah, I got the feeling he\u2019s somewhat aware of it and frankly, somewhat frustrated by it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>McConnell, 84, was discharged from a rehabilitation center Thursday and is continuing his recovery at home. He was first hospitalized June 14, and his office released few details at the time, other than to say he was receiving \u201cexcellent care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>After weeks of speculation, McConnell released a statement July 12 saying he was recovering from a fall and a case of pneumonia. Throughout his prolonged absence, Democrats and Republicans alike have demanded more transparency.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Lulu Garcia-Navarro, a CNN contributor, asked Jennings why McConnell doesn\u2019t call into a \u201ccredible news organization\u201d but can have phone calls with him.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Jennings said July 7 he\u2019d spoken with McConnell on the phone about a variety of topics. Following that conversation, Jennings used his platform on CNN to refute some of the speculation circulating on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/usmovingexpertss.com\/?p=4587\">Timber Fire grows to 3,700 acres in Big Sur, threatening 500 structures, condors<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday night, Jennings responded by saying McConnell is from a generation that tends to be private.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy view of him and frankly, my belief about males of that generation, is that they\u2019re intensely private, to be honest,\u201d Jennings said. \u201cHe\u2019s always been a little private about his own personal health care. You know, he\u2019s a polio survivor and one of the issues that he\u2019s had over time is weakness in his legs. I think that\u2019s part of what\u2019s going on here and part of the conditioning that he is having to go through right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>When asked if McConnell would at least call into Jennings\u2019 radio show, Jennings said he hopes that\u2019s a possibility.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve had him on before, and I\u2019m hoping to have him on as we get closer to win the Senate,\u201d Jennings said.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>McConnell said in an Aug. 6 statement he will continue physical therapy from home during the state work period and work with his staff on Senate business.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The Senate is expected to return Sept. 14, though McConnell has not given a timeline on when he will return to the chamber.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/usmovingexpertss.com\/?p=4586\">Student killed in shooting at school bus stop in South Carolina, coroner says<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--]--><!-- --><!-- --><!-- --><\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scott Jennings, a longtime ally of KY Sen.
