Investigators later determined that the flashlight used by the suspect was mounted to his gun, meaning the weapon was pointed directly at the residents when he illuminated them before leaving on foot, according to the release.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Deputies and officers arrived in the area within minutes and used specialized K-9 officers and drone teams to track the wanted man, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>While attempting to escape law enforcement officers, the suspect accidentally shot himself in the leg, according to the release. That\u2019s about a third of a mile from the site of the armed burglary.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Responding officers took the suspect into custody, then transported him to a local hospital for medical treatment, the sheriff\u2019s office said.
