Wildlife Resources Commission was notified of the incident, and responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, officials said. The agency says the bear was a female.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Black bears are native to North Carolina and are a common sight in western North Carolina.
