At the intersection with Eagle Road the Buick driver attempted to pass the mini bike, but the vehicles collided, Bennett said.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The mini bike driver was taken to Prisma Health Richland hospital in Columbia and died there Monday, according to Bennett.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The Sumter County Coroner\u2019s Office has not publicly identified the mini bike rider.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Bennett said that the Buick driver \u2014 who was the only person in the car \u2014 was not hurt, and no other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/usmovingexpertss.com\/?p=4957\">Yale University scientist widens investigation of polluted farmland in S.C.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>There was no word if the mini bike rider was wearing a helmet or if the Buick driver was wearing a seatbelt, but the crash continues to be investigated by the Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Through Sunday, 534 people had died on South Carolina roads in 2026, according to the state Department of Public Safety.
