Used as a medical supply transporter, Shane Somers\u2019 Prius LE covered 100,000 miles in just eight months, shuttling supplies to hospitals and nursing homes. Despite the brutal mileage, Somers told The Drive that his car remains in excellent condition and has needed nothing beyond routine maintenance.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<h2>100,000 Problem-Free Miles<\/h2>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The Prius\u2019 maintenance record is remarkably ordinary considering how much driving it has seen. In those eight months, it received 10 oil changes, 13 tire rotations, 3 engine air filters, 3 cabin air filters, an engine coolant and inverter service, one alignment, and a set of front wipers. The only real hiccup involved its factory tires, which suffered five flats before being replaced with Goodyear Assurance tires, which reportedly haven\u2019t suffered the same fate.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>More importantly, there have been no reported major mechanical failures. Somers says the Prius is still running well, while even its heavily used driver\u2019s seat remains in surprisingly good condition. That is quite a feat for a car averaging more than 12,000 miles every month.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<h2>The Hybrid Powertrain Has Taken It All in Stride<\/h2>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The entry-level 2026 Prius LE uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain producing 194 hp. It\u2019s paired to an electronically controlled CVT and achieves an EPA-estimated 57 mpg combined (Somers averaged 48.3 MPG). Of course, one Prius can\u2019t prove that every Toyota hybrid will sail through 100,000 miles without a problem. Yet, you can\u2019t ignore this Prius\u2019 achievement.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Somers\u2019 Prius has covered more than seven times the distance the average U.S. driver would cover in eight months. Aside from its immaterial tire troubles and routine servicing, it has done so without the need for any repairs.
