During Redmond\u2019s speech, he said Joe Wilson and U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham have been in office for too long and are \u201cthorns in the side of America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI guess she didn\u2019t like some of the things that I said about her husband,\u201d Redmond said in an interview.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Redmond initially told sheriff\u2019s personnel that he only wanted to have the incident documented, but he has since asked for charges to be filed.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe doesn\u2019t need to be treated like she\u2019s better than other people, and she can do anything she wants to do, and get by with it. That\u2019s crossing the line,\u201d Redmond said.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The Richland County Sheriff\u2019s Office released a redacted version of the report and said the case is under investigation, but declined further comment.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe advised her to stop (poking him) and she continued until he stated that \u2018he would sue her if she touched him again.\u2019 At that point she walked away without further incident,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Redmond said two weeks ago at another candidate event in Aiken that Roxanne Wilson held up a sign that said \u201cyou lie\u201d after Redmond\u2019s remarks there. Joe Wilson yelled \u201cyou lie\u201d at President Barack Obama during a 2009 speech in front of a joint-session of Congress.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Wilson\u2019s campaign confirmed an interaction took place. Roxanne Wilson, through her husband\u2019s campaign, declined to comment, but Joe Wilson released a brief statement.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoth Roxanne and Mr. Redmond have a First Amendment Right to free speech as guaranteed to them by the United States Constitution,\u201d Joe Wilson said in the statement. \u201cI will always stand by my wife.
