Logan Anders, a 24-year-old Liberty resident, is the driver who died in what the Pickens County Coroner’s Office called an accident.

The two-vehicle collision happened at about 3:55 a.m. in Pickens County, said Master Trooper Joseph Rowell of the Highway Patrol.

Anders was driving a 1995 Jeep SUV south on North Freeman Road, according to Rowell. At the intersection with U.S. 178 Anders disregarded a stop sign and crashed into a 2016 Ford pickup truck, with boat in tow, that was driving east U.S. 178, Rowell said.

Anders, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Baptist Easley Hospital where he died before 5 a.m., according to the coroner’s office.

Rowell said that neither the pickup driver nor a passenger in the truck were hurt, and no other injuries were reported.
