A Swansea man was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and a concurrent 30-year sentence for attempted murder, an 11th Circuit Solicitor’s office news release said.

Joey Len Inabinet Jr., 31, was convicted May 22 of murdering Robert Todd Bailey, a 60-year old Swansea resident, and the attempted murder of another unidentified individual after a weeklong jury trial, the release said.
Two days before the killing, Inabinet had removed his ankle monitor +and attacked Bailey and a third individual, prosecutors said. On June 25, 2024, he shot and killed Bailey in Swansea outside of Bailey’s Calvary Church Road home and shot a second victim twice in the face, the release said.
Prosecutors said Inabinet had “prior difficulties” with Bailey. Inabinet was arrested and charged later that day, a 2024 Lexington County Sheriff’s Department news release said. Why Inabinet was wearing an ankle monitor at the time is unknown.

According to the solicitor’s office release, Inabinet had an extensive criminal history, including convictions for domestic violence, failure to stop for blue lights, drugs, burglary and multiple probation violations. He has been transported to the South Carolina Department of Corrections to begin his sentence.
The presiding judge was Walton J. McLeod IV. Sutania A. Fuller, Robby McNair and Melissa Moon prosecuted the case.
