At about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Moncks Corner Police Department said officers responded to report of an armed robbery 106 Foxbank Plantation Boulevard. That’s in a part of South Carolina between Lake Moultrie and Charleston.

Responding officers found multiple people who had been shot, according to police.

Bile died at the scene, the coroner’s office said.

Another person was taken to an area hospital, and listed in critical condition, according to police.

A person of interest was detained, but no arrests have been reported by police.

Information about the armed robbery wasn’t available, and there was no word about the number of people involved in the incident.

Police, who are continuing to investigate, called the shooting an isolated incident, saying there’s no ongoing threat to the public.

Bile’s death is being investigated by both police and the coroner’s office.

“This is a tragic and senseless act of violence that has deeply impacted those involved, their families and our community,” Police Chief Antwan Richardson said in a news release. “We ask our community to remain patient as detectives continue their work and to keep the victims, their families and all those affected in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
