5 Points Social, a joint venture from Cocky Hospitality and Cocks by 90, announced on social media Wednesday night that it is coming to 632 Harden St. in the heart of Five Points. That building was formerly long home to The Cotton Gin bar and most recently was occupied by the New Brookland Tavern music club.
“Together, we are transforming the former Cotton Gin building into 5 Points Social — a destination built around sports, live music, food, drinks, exclusive member experiences, and community,” the Wednesday social media post said. “Our vision is to honor the history of this iconic building while creating a new gathering place for Gamecocks, locals, alumni, and visitors alike.”
An exact opening date for the venue hasn’t been publicly announced, but the social media post noted work is underway and that an August timeframe is possible.
The space at 632 Harden was, for many years, home to the Cotton Gin, a popular Five Points nightspot. New Brookland Tavern, which had formerly been in West Columbia, moved into the 632 Harden spot in 2024. However, it left the Five Points space in May and is set to move to a new location, which has not yet been announced.

Cocks by 90 is the social media handle and USC fandom brand of Jeff O’Hara, who also has ownership in the CB18 and Breakers Live bars in Five Points. Cocky Hospitality, meanwhile, says on its website that it connects “Gamecock fans, local businesses, brands, and student-athletes through events, NIL deals, collaborations, and social media.”
The Five Points Association, the merchants group for the historic hospitality district, greeted the announcement of 5 Points Social warmly.
”We can’t wait to see this vision come to life,” the association said in a comment on 5 Points Social’s Wednesday Instagram announcement. “Welcome to the neighborhood!”
