A car wash along a busy commercial stretch in a city near Columbia has closed its doors.

Take 5 Car Wash at 4741 Forest Drive in Forest Acres, which formerly was a Frank’s Car Wash, is closed. There is a sign outside the facility that lists it as “permanently closed” and the business’ signage has been taken off the building. The location is no longer listed on the Take 5 website.
The sign posted in the driveway of the business advises Take 5 members that their memberships are still active at other Take 5 car wash locations, and advises those with questions to email [email protected].

There are more than a dozen Take 5 Car Wash locations across the greater Midlands, according to a store locator on the company’s website. There are more than 300 Take 5 Car wash soots nationwide.
The Take 5 Forest Drive facility was located in a bustling stretch just west of Trenholm Road in Forest Acres, with directly neighboring businesses including a Five Guys restaurant and a Dunkin’ doughnut and coffee place. Forest Drive, generally, is lined with grocery stores, restaurants, stores and other businesses and services. Nearly 30,000 cars per day travel down that stretch of Forest Drive, per state Department of Transportation stats.
