Waffle House, which has locations in numerous states, recently opened a new restaurant at 151 Blanche Circle in Irmo. That’s just off Dutch Fork Road, behind a Whataburger restaurant.
While Waffle House locations are well-known for being open 24 hours a day, the new location in Irmo is, for the moment, open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, according to a sign in front of the restaurant on Monday morning. That sign noted that 24-hour operations at the Blanche Circle location are “coming soon.”
Known for its proximity to major highways and roads, Waffle House is a staple across the South and has, through the years, spread as far west as Arizona and as far north as Pennsylvania. There are more than 2,000 Waffle Houses nationwide, according to data website ScrapeHero.

The Waffle House menu is known, of course, for its waffles, but also hash browns, burgers, breakfast sandwiches, pies, omelets and more. The restaurants famously offer their hash browns in a number of varieties, including, among other ways, covered (with cheese), peppered (with jalapenos) and chunked (with ham).
The Dutch Fork Road area in Irmo is lined with a number of businesses, including Whataburger, Starbucks, Dunkin, Walmart, Aldi, Taco Bell and many others. It’s a high-traffic area, with nearly 29,000 cars per day traveling down Dutch Fork Road, per state Department of Transportation data.
