A man was recently arrested on multiple charges after shooting into a vehicle where one person was hit by the gunfire, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Robert Stachura was charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, the sheriff’s office said Monday in a news release.
The charges stem from a May 14 shooting, according to the release.
That night, deputies responded to a report of a shooting on Amelia Drive, the sheriff’s office said. That’s in the Cherryvale area of Sumter County.
Deputies found one victim, who was taken by EMS to Prisma Health Tuomey hospital, according to the release. Further information on the victim’s condition was not available.

No other injuries were reported.
Stachura was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, according to the release. His bond was denied, the sheriff’s office said.
The shooting followed a disagreement, according to the release. Information about why Stachura and the victims were arguing was not available, and there was no word if they knew each other before the shooting.
