A pedestrian was killed following a crash in Clarendon County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. Friday, when a 2005 Ford F-150 was travelling west on Paxville Highway before hitting a pedestrian who was walking north across the highway, according to a news release.
The pedestrian was transported by EMS to area hospital and later died as a result of the injuries, the release said.

The deceased has not yet been identified by the Clarendon County Coroner’s Office.
The driver, and sole occupant, of the Ford did not sustain any injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the release said.
