Columbia man gets 16 years in federal prison for drug trafficking, DOJ says

A Columbia man was sentenced to more than 16 years in federal prison for drug trafficking, a Thursday news release from the United States Department of Justice said.

Evidence at trial showed that Micaiah Green, 31, used various hotel rooms to store and distribute more than 2,000 grams of methamphetamine, 200 grams of fentanyl, and 900 grams of marijuana in the Columbia area between April and June 2024, the release said.

According to the release, Green had previously been convicted for burglary, first-degree assault and battery, attempted armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted violent felon, trafficking methamphetamine, distribution of cocaine base, and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base and was out on bond at the time of this offense.

The presiding judge was Sherri Lydon. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ariyana Gore prosecuted the case.
