One person is dead and another injured following a fatal collision in Clarendon County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash involved one vehicle and occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Interstate 95 northbound at the 132-mile marker, according to a news release. That’s just south of the Sumter County line and near the exit for Black River Road.
A 2025 Subaru Outback, carrying one passenger, was heading north on the interstate before veering off to the right of the road and striking a tree.

The driver died on scene as a result of their injuries and has not yet been identified by the Clarendon County Coroner’s Office, the release said.
The passenger in the vehicle was injured and transported to an area hospital, according to the release.

The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
