A Columbia-area location of a well-known chicken tenders chain is closed.

The Slim Chickens at 2089 N. Beltline Blvd. in Forest Acres near Columbia was closed as of July 2, per various online resources. The business was listed as “permanently closed” on Google and on its Facebook page. The Forest Acres location also was listed as “closed” on the locations finder on Slim Chickens website as of Thursday afternoon.

Other Columbia-area Slim Chickens locations on Killian Road and Garners Ferry Road remain open.

The Forest Acres Slim Chickens opened in March 2024 on a site that formerly was home to a Golden Chick restaurant near the former site of Richland Mall.

Slim Chickens was founded in Arkansas and expanded across the U.S. in recent years. There are just more than 200 locations nationwide, according to data site ScrapeHero. The restaurants offer chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches, wraps, salads and more.
