Monterrey Mexican Restaurant, which had formerly been located at 931 Senate St. in the Vista for a number of years, announced earlier this year it would be moving to 700 Gervais St. Suite C. Now the eatery is ready to open its doors at the new address.

“Thank you for all the calls, questions, and visits,” the Vista Monterrey said on Facebook Monday. “We are so glad and excited to let you know that we are opening Thursday, July 16, 2026! We made it and are ready to show you our new spot.”

Monterrey’s move comes as developer Subtext is planning to build a new seven-story apartment complex on the property at 931 Senate Street, which is at the corner of Senate and Park streets. The apartment project went through various city approvals last year.
