A Midlands mayor has been called on to resign by council members.
Chapin’s town council voted on a resolution of “no confidence” in Mayor Bill Mitchell at a meeting Tuesday night.

Council was looking at “Welcome to Chapin” sign mock-ups when Council member Ainslee Bost made a motion to amend the agenda to present “a resolution of the town council of the town of Chapin, South Carolina expressing no confidence in the leadership of Mayor Bill Mitchell.”
“Is that right?” Mitchell replied. “Thank you. Thank you so much.”
The resolution further that stated that the mayor’s conduct had marred the council’s working relationship and his ability to lead effectively.
