A traffic accident claimed the life of one person in Aiken County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 9:30 a.m., when the driver of a 2015 Chevrolet Trax was traveling west on S.C. 302 at Farmer Road before veering off the right side of the road, hitting a culvert and overturning, according to a news release.
The driver, identified as 21-year-old Colby Brewer of Springfield, was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash around 9:54 a.m., according to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office, adding that Brewer was not wearing a seatbelt.

No other injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and Aiken County Coroner’s Office.
