One dead, another injured in Spartanburg County fatal crash, troopers say

One person is dead and another injured following a fatal wreck in Spartanburg County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred on Cross Anchor Road, or S.C. 146 near Miller Road around 5:45 a.m. Saturday, according to Master Trooper Hannah Davidson of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

A driver, carrying one passenger inside a 2025 Honda Ridgeline, was heading east on S.C. 146 before running off the right side of the road, up an embankment, striking a culvert and overturning, Davidson said.

The passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash and has not yet been identified by the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office.

The driver was transported to an area hospital with “unknown injuries,” Davidson said.

The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
