The walking trails around the local parks in Bluffton are telling their own stories.

“This summer, families can enjoy reading together while exploring Bluffton’s parks with the Storybook Trail,” a Town of Bluffton spokesperson said.
The town partnered with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs-Women’s League of the Lowcountry to have storybook boards with pictures and texts placed along the town’s walking trails. The General Federation of Women’s Clubs is an international women’s organization which is dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.
The parks with storybook boards include Buckwalter Park, DuBois Park and Oscar Frazier Park.
Families can walk the trail and read a story, one page at time, while enjoying the outdoors.

“Each park features a different story, and Buckwalter Park and Oscar Frazier Park even offer stories in more than one direction, giving visitors a reason to come back again,” the spokesperson said.
The Storybook Trail will be available throughout the summer and will continue into the beginning of the school year, helping to encourage children to keep reading while staying active outdoors.
