Filing for the November election closed for seats in Lexington County’s five school districts on Friday. The filing deadline for Richland County’s school districts — including two seats on the Richland side of Lexington-Richland 5 — closed at noon on Monday.
Some districts, like Lexington 1 in the central part of Lexington County, have all the incumbent board members running for re-election. In Lexington 4 in the Gaston and Swansea area, only the three incumbents are running for the three seats up this year.

In other districts, voters will be choosing new members to oversee local schools. In Lexington-Richland 5 in the Chapin-Irmo area, all four seats up for election will see new faces, with no incumbents running.
