The Bin Store in West Columbia was an overstock liquidation retailer where items were laid out in bins. Prices at the store varied by the day of the week. For instance, on Fridays and Saturdays, when the store was freshly restocked, everything was $6. On Sunday everything was $5, then $4 on Monday, $3 on Tuesday, $2 on Wednesday and $1 on Thursday. Then the store would restock for Friday, and the cycle started again.
The Bin Store was located in the Augusta Road shopping center that also is home to Carolina Pottery and the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store, with a Lowe’s hardware store across the street. It also was located just west of Interstate 26.
