Bodies of two women are found on South Carolina property, coroner says

The bodies of two women were discovered Wednesday on a property in a rural part of South Carolina, the Sumter County Coroner’s Office told The State.

The women were homicide victims, Coroner Robbie Baker said Thursday. The women had been shot and killed, according to Baker.

The victims’ bodies were found between 5-5:30 p.m. Wednesday at 1575 Pudding Swamp Road, Baker said. That’s in the Lynchburg area, not far from the line separating Sumter and Clarendon counties.

Baker said his office will publicly identify the adult victims after their families have been notified.

As of Thursday morning, no arrests have been reported, according to Baker.

There was no word about a shooter, or shooters, or a motive for the deadly gunfire.

The deaths are being investigated by the coroner’s office and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
