A clothier is planning a new store in one of Columbia’s key shopping districts.
J.Crew Factory, which has locations across the U.S., is planning a store at 275 Harbison Blvd. unit W, according to building permit paperwork filed with the city of Columbia. Job listings for the coming Harbison location also have appeared online, and Carolina Retail Experts announced the location in a July web post.

The clothier will be located in the Harbison Center shopping complex that features a number of well-known retailers including Trader Joe’s, 2nd & Charles, Rooms To Go, First Watch, Mission BBQ and other businesses. The J.Crew Factory store would be near Dan’s Fan City in the development.

This would be the second J.Crew Factory store in the Midlands. The company also has a location at Trenholm Plaza in Forest Acres.
The Harbison area has been an enduringly popular commercial shopping area northwest of downtown Columbia, lined with big box stores, grocery stores, hotels, theaters, restaurants, the Columbiana Centre mall and more. About 29,000 cars per day travel down Harbison Boulevard, per state Department of Transportation stats, while about 92,000 cars per day traverse Interstate 26 nearby.
