A Midlands restaurant known for its buffet, burgers and more has announced its closure.

The Kozy Kitchen, located at 290 S. Monmouth St. in Swansea in Lexington County, made the announcement in a Sept. 4 post on Facebook.
“After much soul-searching and with great sadness we must announce the closing of The Kozy Kitchen Swansea,” the business said on social media. “Many factors, beyond our control, have impacted our business and it is no longer sustainable at the level we feel you deserve.
“We cherish the friendships and relationships we have built along this journey. It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve you. We have enjoyed making so many of you smile and feel welcomed home.”

The closure announcement drew a big response on Facebook, with more than 100 reactions, more than 50 comments and more than 40 shares as of the morning of Sept. 8.
The Kozy Kitchen had been open since Jan. 2025 at 290 S. Monmouth. It’s location was formerly home to a restaurant called Sugarbakers. Kozy Kitchen was known for its all-you-can-eat buffet, burgers, chicken sandwiches, cheesesteaks and more.
