Two people were recently shot at a Circle K convenience store in South Carolina, according to the Sumter Police Department.

The shooting happened at the Circle K at the intersection of Alice Drive and Broad Street Sunday night, police said in a news release. That’s in a part of Sumter densely packed with retail businesses, restaurants and hotels.

At about 10:15 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call about a shooting at the Circle K following a disturbance, according to the release.

Information about the disturbance was not available.

Officers found one person at the store who suffered a minor injury during the incident, police said. While at the Circle K, officers learned that a 23-year-old man was shot and brought to an area hospital in a private vehicle, according to the release.

The man’s injury was called a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said. Further information on both victims’ conditions was not available.

There was no word about a shooter, or shooters, or the number of people involved. Information about any previous relationship between the people involved, and if the victims were the intended targets, was not available.

No arrests have been reported by police, who are continuing to investigate the shooting.
