A new business that offers Yemeni coffee and more has debuted in one of Columbia’s most popular neighborhoods.

Qahwah Palace Coffee House, which touts authentic Middle Eastern coffee, kicked off with a soft opening on Sept. 5 at its new location at 616 Harden St. in Five Points, as noted by posts on Qahwah Palace’s social media. The coffee house is open from 2 to 9 p.m. daily during this phase, per the Google listing for the business.
This marks the second location in South Carolina for Qahwah Palace. It opened a spot on North Main Street in Greenville last year, per the Upstate Business Journal. The company’s profile on Instagram also touts locations in Clemson and Charleston as “coming soon.”
“We blend Arabic elegance with contemporary design, honoring tradition while embracing innovation,” Qahwah Palace says on its website. “Sip time-honored classics like Qishr, Mufawar, and Mazaj Adni Tea — or modern twists like our creamy Pistachio Latte.

“More than a coffee house, this is a cultural gathering spot where stories are shared over steaming cups. We can’t wait to share the treasures of Yemeni heritage with you, one cup at a time.”
Five Points remains a durably popular district in Columbia, lined with shops, bars, restaurants, bookstores, and more. There is typically a stream of pedestrians in the neighborhood day and night, and about 24,000 cars per day travel down Harden Street, per state Department of Transportation data.
