A fashionable women’s clothier has debuted a new shop in a growing district near downtown Columbia.

DressUp, which has more than a dozen store locations across the South, recently opened a new shop at 2145 Pickens St. in Columbia’s BullStreet District. The company has announced the Columbia location’s opening in various posts on Instagram, and there were signs outside the business on Tuesday morning noting it is “now open.”
The BullStreet DressUp location is on the first floor of the WestLawn building, a couple doors down from the Methodical Coffee shop that opened last year. It’s a short distance from the Gather COLA food hall that has proved popular since opening in 2025.
DressUp was founded in Dahlonega, Georgia in 2009, the company says on its website.

“Over the years, DressUp’s heart has never changed — to keep changing the world, one dress at a time,” the company’s website notes. “Our goal is to make every experience just that; an experience, not just ‘shopping.’ Whether that’s online or in store, we hope you enjoy the ‘DressUp touch’ while shopping with us.
DressUp’s arrival is the latest in a series of openings and announcements at the BullStreet District. Hughes Development and the city of Columbia are in the midst of a two-decade plan to convert the 181-acre former State Mental Hospital site into a vibrant mixed-use development. The dress shop’s debut is the second clothing store to open on the ground floor of the WestLawn Building this month, following the recent debut of the Alumni Hall USC gear store.
