But this was for something he did off the field.
Mahomes was on a baseball diamond with his 3-year-old son during a practice held in a driving rainstorm.
While doing his weekly radio interview on 96.5 The Fan in Kansas City, Mahomes said he had a blast.

Mahomes said he can’t get to all of Bronze’s games, but he also noted that when he’s at the youth field it’s not his role to critique the coaches.
“Yeah, I’m not the coach, though, so I just try to be the dad, and I just try to get there whenever I can,” the superstar QB said. “They played on a day that I was able to get there after I left the facility, and so I just want to support him in every way. Let the coaches coach, and then just try to give him tips on the car ride home.
“You know, it’s about being a dad more than being a professional athlete, and I think that that’s where I gotta kind of be at whenever we go to these things.”
