The incident occurred around 10 p.m. last night near the 600 block of Harden St.
CPD’s preliminary information suggests the pedestrian was crossing in a designated crosswalk when a vehicle struck them. The vehicle was driving south on Harden Street.
While the person who was hit was sent to the hospital, they were only treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the news release said.
“Pedestrian safety requires everyone to pay attention,” said CPD’s Deputy Chief Melron Kelly in the news release. “Drivers should eliminate distractions, stay focused on the roadway, and always watch for pedestrians. A moment of distraction can have serious consequences.”
