The shooting was a suicide by gun, Deputy Chief Melron Kelly told The State. There’s no threat to public safety, Kelly said.
The shooting happened inside a vehicle in the Costco Wholesale membership store’s parking lot, according to Kelly. The Costco is at 507 Piney Grove Road, near Exit 104 on I-26.
Information about what led to the shooting in a public setting was not available, but Kelly said there’s no indication that the victim was either an employee or a customer at the store Tuesday.
