One person was killed and many more were injured early Sunday morning in a shooting at a restaurant/bar in South Carolina, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

The shooting happened at the Jerk Hut at 1004 Zimalcrest Drive, the sheriff’s department said in a news release. That’s near the intersection with Broad River Road in a part of Columbia that’s not far from Exit 65 on I-20.
In the early morning hours, deputies responded to a call about a shooting in the 1000 block of Zimalcrest Drive and found multiple shooting victims at the restaurant, according to the release. There was no word about the exact time the shooting happened or when deputies arrived at the Jerk Hut.
Deputies provided medical aid to the victims, and secured the scene, the sheriff’s department said.
EMS took two of the shooting victims from the Jerk Hut to an area hospital, while other victims got to hospitals in private vehicles, according to the release. Information about how many people were shot was not available.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the victim who died.

As of 10:30 a.m., deputies remained at the restaurant as the sheriff’s department continued to investigate the shooting.
Information about the shooter, or shooters, and the number of people involved, was not available. There was no word about a motive for the gunfire.
No arrests were reported by the sheriff’s department.
