Deon David Savage, 19, of Richland County, was charged Wednesday with possession of a firearm on school property, breach of peace-aggravated in nature and pointing a firearm at a person, according to a news release.
Savage’s arrests follows that of 18-year-old Darrell Lee Goss Jr., was also charged with pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, carrying or displaying a firearm on school property and breach of peace aggravated nature on May 27, the release said.
Goss and Savage mark the fifth and sixth arrests — and the first suspects accused of firing their weapons on campus — in connection to two unrelated shootings during a homecoming celebration Oct. 4 at S.C. State. One person, Jaliyah Butler, 19, was killed and another injured.
Without regard to human life, both men reportedly shot into a crowd of people in a parking lot in front of Hugine Suites, located at 300 College Avenue, according to arrest warrants.
